The First Step

Everyone likes good news. In a writer’s world it may come in various forms but it’s hard to beat the excitement generated by that very first phone call from an agent. In our family that’s the big story this week. Daughter Shari Green is now represented by agent Michelle Andelman of New York’s Lynn C. Franklin Associates.

I’m a big supporter — unbiased, of course  🙂 — of Shari’s writing. Her non-fiction articles have been published in Presbyterian Record, Devo’Zine, Birth, and online at suite101.com but her focus in recent years has been on YA fiction and she has several YA novels in the works. She is also the creator/editor of “Tide Pool”, a blog-style e-zine of short fiction for teen readers.

 

So, woohoo and congratulations, Shari! May this new writer-agent relationship be just the first step in a writing career filled with good news.
