(I chose to leave the dead branch and not crop out the bare bits. This is the hydrangea bush that the bears broke while playing in the yard one morning.)
“playing?” Maybe “baby” needed a spanking? I remember running away one morning and my dad brought a switch to escort me home.
oh…is that a type of red rose at the top? It’s lovely.
The flowers in the header are actually Oriental Poppies, Earlene. I’ve never been able to grow them successfully here, but I snapped the photo while on the Sunshine Coast in June.
I love hydrangeas, but my shady front yard isn’t friendly to them.
I wonder what’s being unfriendly to them there. Hydrangeas actually prefer some shade. They don’t do well in direct sun. They need a lot of water, too, especially in hot weather.
I saw a wall of hydrangea when I was in England. My battery was dead and I couldn’t take a photograph. Yes, boo-hoo!
I’ll bet a wall of them would have been something remarkable to see, even if you couldn’t capture the sight in a photo.
