Advent II – Peace

.

This singular moment between seasons
offers its own unique beauty.
The calendar may say otherwise,
but fall is over
and winter hasn’t quite begun.

Clematis in Winter

Snow comes and goes while
Leaves die and drop.
Regret for the passing pairs with
Anticipation for the coming.
We rest in limbo
And wait.

  1. I hope this season brings you many many blessings!

Guess there is a major storm coming your (and our) way. Would like snow over Christmas, then again it does make traveling to grammas house difficult. Maybe St Nick can just bring a light fluffy snowfall with him. You & family have a wonderful time together!!

We’ve just gotten over ten days of cold and snow, so I don’t mind a bit of rain, although it sounds like we’ll be getting more than ‘a bit’. A dusting of snow for Christmas would be ideal, but I’m not holding my breath. 😉 Wishing you and Jayne a happy Christmas.

  3. I have mixed feelings about winter. Okay, that’s not entirely true. While it does look beautiful in pictures, I’m sort of glad it’s sunny out in my garden. The winter flowers are blooming. By Christmas even the trees may be in full blossoms. Love your photos, Carol.

Picture-postcard winter scenes look lovely, but we know winter days aren’t always that pretty. I’m sure if we were all truthful we’d say there are good and bad aspects of every season. I like living somewhere that has a balance between the four seasons, so when I’m getting fed up with one I know another is coming relatively soon. 😀 I don’t think I’d enjoy living in, say, Florida… or Mexico… full time. But I think you have the best of both worlds. 🙂

I agree with your last comment, Carol. A good taste of all seasons suits me, but, admittedly, I prefer some more than others. 🙂
    Peace to you.

I'd love to hear from you!
