When tissues, cough syrup, and curling up under a warm afghan are all I can think of, planning a blog post easily gets dumped to the bottom of the priority list. My week has been one of hacking and hugging my ribs — just an ordinary cold, I keep saying, but a nasty bronchial one.
No profound thoughts are setting off lightbulbs in my addled brain. My list of potential blog posts is blank and I refuse to sit here any longer hoping Ms. Muse will magically turn up with an idea in hand. Instead, my plan is to head for bed and hope to sleep. That’s not an easy accomplishment most nights, perched high upon a stack of pillows as I’ve been.
I leave you with my apology and a couple more fall vistas to enjoy in lieu of words.
Have seasonal colds or flu found their way into your household recently? If so, you have my sincere condolences!

along the woods and day by day
the dead leaves fall and melt.

Oh, Carol, I hope you feel better soon! Colds are miserable. We haven’t had any recently, but a couple of migraines and back woes have made life challenging. Praying you’ll get the rest you need.
Gorgeous pictures, Mom, and I love that quote! Thanks for taking the time to share them. Now go back to bed, and get well soon!
I concur with Shari’s comments. Great photos, lovely quotation, and get back to bed! Sorry you are having to fight this cold. Lots of it around these days. mh
Many thanks for your good wishes. It’s “just” a cold but I’ve been flattened with it all week. Hoping to be mobile soon.
Feel better! This is when books can be a great comfort.
I hope you feel better soon. Keep warm and dry. The pictures are lovely.
OHHHH I feel for you dear friend…and the pics are wonderful especially the path…may it lead you to wellness. Hugs, mE
