All creatures of our God and King
Lift up your voice and with us sing,
Alleluia! Alleluia!
.

.
Let all things their Creator bless,
And worship Him in humbleness,
O praise Him! Alleluia!
.
Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son,
And praise the Spirit, Three in One!
O praise Him! O praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! *

“Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!” The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.” [Rev. 5:13-14]
.
“Let Heaven and earth praise Him, the seas and all that move in them.” [Psalm 69:34]

He wrote this hymn shortly before his death,
but it was not published for almost 400 years.

Love the pictures, Carol, and the message.
I started to sing along with the first words. Not published for 400 years?!
The first one is a Stellar’s jay, right? So much deeper in color than the ones we see here. We have Canada jays, yes?
The second “bird” looks vaguely familiar, but what’s the third?
I could watch birds all day.
One of my all time favorite hymns – and these pictures? PERFECT. What is that bird on the bottom – I’ve never seen that one, not even in pictures. Thanks, Carol.
Good morning, Keli, Sandra and Diana, and thanks for your comments. These are some of our local “wildlife” — from top to bottom, the Steller’s Jay, Douglas Squirrel and Varied Thrush. (Sandy, a Canada Jay is also known as a Whiskey Jack or Grey Jay and is mostly grey… no blue. Where one of my daughters lives there are Blue Jays, a lighter blue with generous white markings.)
Okay, so ours are plain old blue jays. 🙂 I almost posted one of those today, too. Love the thrush. Kind of reminds me a little of our late Scruffy–a tortoiseshell cat.
Stunning and simply beautiful. I really think you should add photographer to your name, Carol. Your photos always move me.
You make me blush, Joylene. I thank you, but can’t claim to be a true photographer because most of my shots are lucky catches. These three are all taken from the comfort of my family room couch, thanks to a zoom lens!
Beautiful, Carol! Love the pictures and the words to accompany them. And I especially love learning you took them all from the warmth and comfort indoors! That just made me smile. 🙂
Beautiful hymn and photos. Praising our mighty Creator God is a pleasure. Worthy is the Lamb! I really enjoy your posts that praise God. I know they come from your heart. Blessings to you, Carol…
Lovely, lovely. I worshiped through this post. Thank you.
Beautiful photos, Carol.
Thanks, everyone. The other song that these sweet critters brought to mind was “All Things Bright and Beautiful”:-
All things bright and beautiful,
all creatures great and small,
all things wise and wonderful:
the Lord God made them all.
Each little flower that opens,
each little bird that sings,
God made their glowing colors,
and made their tiny wings.
