Interesting–the concept that water can increase the solidity of a foundation! It seems counterintuitive, but that’s why it’s thought-provoking.
Thank you all for commenting today. I’m always glad to know that the ideas gleaned from one of my photos actually makes sense to someone other than me! Jenn, if you stop to think about it, sand and cement when mixed together still remain loose material until water is added to create concrete… the foundation most used for buildings. Granted, that’s because of the cement, but I think it’s true that many things simply won’t pack down to a solid base until some kind of moisture is added. At least, that’s the case when I’m making a crumb crust for my apple kuchen! 🙂
