Conference Time! Yaaaay!

Today has finally arrived! My camera and I are headed for the Surrey International Writers’ Conference with sessions today through Sunday. Talk about awesome! My choice of Master Class for this evening’s session is James Scott Bell’s “Next Level Fiction”.  Over the next three days there are more than seventy workshops to choose from, all led by great presenters. Wow! Decisions, decisions, decisions!

I received word that I had been shortlisted again as a finalist in the writing contest, so that was cool. Didn’t win… but I know someone who did, and that’s more than cool.

I’ll be back on Monday to tell you all about it and share my conference experiences and some fresh photos. (These ones are from the last time I attended.)

Yes, conferences and conventions are excellent. When you are in NY, the best conferences is the ASJA (American Society of Journalists and Authors) writing conference. One hundred percent excellent, an all around learning, social , writing experience.

  3. Awesome, Carol! Sounds really great. Have a blast!

  4. So happy for you! Have a fun time, dear.

Woo-hoo!! Great job getting on the short list. And what a wonderful time you will have at conference. Love James Scott Bell. Every time I see his name I remember his graciousnes to the old lady (me); green behind the ears in the writing game, that didn’t know who he was at Glorieta eight or ten years ago.

Tell him someone in Kansas loves him like a grandson.

  8. Hope you have a great time, Carol. I can’t wait to hear about your experiences at the conference. I’m going to my first conference in a couple of weeks so I’ll be hoping for some tips on what to expect.

  10. Thanks for your comments and good wishes, everyone. I really did have a wonderful time at the conference. I’m posting reactions over this next week, but then will have to get mentally aligned with NaNoWriMo which is on the horizon next week.

I'd love to hear from you!
