In a world of noise there are few quiet places where the mind can escape for a moment of refreshment. Today I discovered a stopping place that was like finding a grassy knoll beside a stream. I sat and let the cleansing water wash over me and was reminded of the Source of life. It was a place to ponder Psalm 46:10 — “Be still, and know that I am God.”
Ann Voskamp‘s blog, A Holy Experience, is a restful, rest-filled cyberplace that provides a moment of stillness in a noisy day. Her words minister. They are written art.
To spend time browsing through her thoughtful posts is a blessing. I recommend it to you.
I would have to agree. Ann’s posts always leave me thinking, and her photography is restful in and of itself.
Thanks for sharing this link, Careann. We all need a restful place, and often.
Thank you for sharing this oasis, Carol. What a restful place. My own being is so grateful to just close my eyes and listen.
Thanks for your comments Becky, Jeanette and Joylene. I think the focus for Ann’s blog is her homeschooling and bringing Christ into every aspect of her daily life, but there is much for me to take away from the posts, too. As you mention, Joylene, the background music in itself is very restful… pieces by David Nevue, Brian Crain and Gary Lamb. After visiting the site I’ve been leaving it up in the background so I can continue to hear the music as I write.
I’ll check this out, Carol..Thanks!!
Thanks for this link, Mom. Lovely site. 🙂
Not a writer’s site per se, Laura and Shari, but worth visiting for sure.
